The Williams House was built in 1868 by merchant George Williams and serves as a fine example of Victorian-Italianate architecture. The home was recently restored to a single family unit for the first time in 60 years. The restoration of the Williams House is considered a “green” project which reused an extensive amount of original materials. Working with their designer and builder, the owners have succeeded not only in saving an extraordinary architectural landmark but also in bringing energy and positive action to community life. This home is also a fine example of cultural sustainability as it enhances the entire neighborhood through the restoration of this stunning piece of architecture.
