Debby Gomulka founded Debby Gomulka Designs in 2000 after spending five years in the furniture and design industry. Combining this experience with her family background in art and antique collecting gives Debby her comprehensive knowledge of interior design. Debby's innate sense of style has graced many residences and offices throughout NC since her completion of the interior design program at Meredith College in Raleigh, NC. The firm has participated in several show houses in the NC area, notably the Woman's Club of Raleigh/ASID Designer Show house 2008 and the Annual Historic Homes Tour during the Azalea Festival in Wilmington, NC.
Debby's background in interior design extends to her interest in urban design. Working with Durham Area Designers, in Durham, NC, Debby has participated and helped lead several design charrettes, including the 9th Street Charrette, the Downtown Durham Master Plan, and the Old Durham Bulls Athletic Park. In addition, Debby served on the Design Committee for the Downtown Goldsboro Development Corporation in Goldsboro, NC and was a judge for the National Association of Homes Builders Parade of Homes in Winston-Salem, NC. Notably, Debby served on an Urban Design Assistance Team (UDAT) in Towson, MD, a suburb of Washington, DC, to help revitalize the charm and character of a quaint, historical town.
Currently, Debby serves on the Board of Directors for the Bellamy Mansion of Decorative Arts and History in Wilmington, NC and is actively involved in several groups that work with the City of Wilmington to restore, revitalize and preserve the charm and history of downtown Wilmington. Debby is a member of the Cape Fear Green Building Alliance(CFGBA) and led a panel discussion on the "Recycled " Williams House, along with Jay DeChesire, a local noted architect, who talked about his Talon Court project. Most recently, Debby served on the Decorations Committee for the Thalian Hall Grand Re-opening Gala.
Debby Gomulka Designs is a comprehensive design firm that is committed to understanding the client's vision and needs. Services include interior design and space nd concept development, and model home merchandising. The goal of the design team is to provide a dynamic interior space that will reflect the client's individual taste and enhance their lives. Elegance, style and good taste formulate the design hallmarks of Debby Gomulka Designs.
At Debby Gomulka Designs, graceful living is defined as a luxury, with an intimate and exclusive experience with time, quality, and imagination. Quite simply, your room should be an allegory for what takes place in it, so your home should evolve to where it is right for living in. Good design, then, is an evolving process of combining and bringing together a collection of your life experiences that tells the "story" of who you are.
"It is my greatest desire to understand each of my client's visions and translate their vision into beautifully designed interiors. To me, each client project starts with a new journey of discoveries waiting to be peeled away one layer at a time, uncovering the pattern that lies beneath."
